“the 10…the 5…touchdown!” – Psalm 115:1
“Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name give glory because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.” (See Psalm 115:1) You caught the game winner! You’re a rock star, a hero, a stud. You smile for the cameras and soak in the admiration. Errt! Tap the brakes. You only caught the ball because God gave you the ability to do so. Sure, you physically jumped up and pressed your digits around the pigskin, but…how? How were you able to do that? How were you able to leap into the air and use that eye-hand coordination thing to know where the ball was going to be and then actually grab it before it flew by as you then spun, juked and danced into the endzone? That’s pretty amazing to think about. Monkeys can’t really do that. Single-celled amoebas certainly can’t do that. But…maybe Adam could have? You know, if they had football back in the day. Man can do that only because God made us in His image and gifted us with talents above and beyond the other creatures. God is responsible for our victories, we just get to experience them in first-person.
