Samuel L. Jackson wants Mace Windu to be alive
If you didn’t love Samuel L. Jackson as Jedi Master badass Mace Windu in the Prequel Trilogy, well, you may not have a soul. Jackson brought a level of “cool” that the Jedi Order desperately needed and his love for Star Wars is infectious.
Not ready to give up the dream, Jackson has been speaking recently about his role in Star Wars and how he believes that Windu survived Revenge of the Sith. Entertainment Weekly has the whole story, but here’s the long and short of it:
While promoting his new film The Legend of Tarzan on Twitter, a fan asked Jackson who decided that Mace Windu would die. Jackson’s response is a heartfelt denial that Mace is dead.

Wednesday morning the discussion continued on Entertainment Weekly Radio on SiriusXM when Jackson was again asked if Mace is alive.
“Of course he is! Jedi can fall from amazing distances. And there’s a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?”
I’ve always thought the same thing! But what did Darth Sidious’ Force lightning do to poor Mace? We can only guess. Jackson did say that he’s run the idea by former Lucasfilm head honcho George Lucas.
“George is like, ‘I’m okay with that. You can be alive.’”
I don’t think I’ve made it any shock that I’m a fan of Mace Windu so I would totally be down to see shriveled 70-something white-haired Mace in a future Star Wars film. Just do it Kathy! Head over to Entertainment Weekly to hear more of Jackson talking Star Wars on EW Radio!
