Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Official Story Synopsis
Stitch Kingdom has posted the official synopsis for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. There really isn’t any information that’s new but it is nice to hear the official word on the story. A lot of this lines up exactly with what Gareth Edwards said back at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in 2015. But Edwards said those words before he had filmed the movie and the story was revised. The movie is still about ordinary people doing extraordinary things:
From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
With the trailer hitting tomorrow, we’re ready for the Rogue One season to begin. The movie will really be here in no time. Reading that synopsis makes me miss old VHS tapes that had had the synopsis written on the back of the sleeve. Maybe when Ryan from “Force Cult” does another VHS tape he can use this for the back of his next retro piece.
