Star Wars Rebels will return for a fourth season
Speculation has been rampant lately amongst Star Wars Rebels fans over the lack of a renewal announcement for the series’ next season. The lack of news coupled with a cliffhanger ending for Sabine’s latest arc left fans wondering if there was more beyond the end of season 3.
Luckily it looks like there has been a renewal and Star Wars Rebels will return for a fourth season, and that’s great!
EDIT: The story is now up!
Star Wars Rebels is set to return for a fourth season, Lucasfilm announced today, premiering later this year on Disney XD. Production is already underway. Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager, Disney XD said, “The team behind Star Wars Rebels delivers epic storytelling that has captivated fans of all ages across the globe. We’re excited to continue sharing the journey of these fan-favorite rebels with our audience in the fall.”

The official Star Wars Twitter tweeted out a story earlier about the series returning to DisneyXD in the fall. The tweet lead to a 404 error page and the tweet was later deleted. The original tweet still exists on the Star Wars UK Twitter account. At this point we have no reason to believe that the news is incorrect, and likely the story will come later. We will keep this post updated as news develops.

Now that we’ve got Sabine on an interesting path, Ezra exploring more of the Force, and an expanded role for Kallus, I am excited to see where the series will take the characters. I’d really like the show to start to make those big important moves that cement Star Wars Rebels as an essential part of the Star Wars canon.
