The official Star Wars Celebration website has updated stating the next Star Wars Celebration will be in 2019. If there are no release date shifts for the untitled Han Solo: A Star Wars Story film, that will leave less than six months between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Solo. It makes sense to skip 2018 altogether in that likely scenario.

The next official Celebration is slated for a location and date soon-to-be announced, in 2019.

I hope the 2019 Celebration is in Anaheim for completely selfish reasons. However, Celebration 2015 in Anaheim was pretty snazzy and the access to Disneyland and nearby attractions made it very cool for everyone looking to do things outside of the con with friends they rarely get to see. I’m both disappointed and sort of happy for a break, though. I would take another Celebration in a heartbeat; however, a year off will let us recharge our batteries a little, pay off those credit card expenses, and jump back in for Star Wars: Episode IX. There’s always a silver lining.

Do it in Anaheim!
