Frank Oz won’t tell us if he’s in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
If you’re one of those like me who is endlessly waiting to hear if all your favorite characters will feature in an upcoming Star Wars film, this may put a smile on your face. We reported about Frank Oz reprising the role of Yoda for The Last Jedi back in April, and the man behind the iconic character has finally spoken about his involvement in The Last Jedi.
Frank Oz recently spoke to Variety about the legacy of the late Jim Henson, someone who Oz worked very closely with. Toward the end of the article, Oz does get asked about Star Wars and his response is interesting, and somewhat expected of someone working on the highly secretive Star Wars sequels.
There are reports that you might reprise Yoda in the new “Star Wars.”
I feel like I’m a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number. To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I’ve been asked not to talk about it. I love Yoda. I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me.
While hearing Yoda’s voice in The Force Awakens was thrilling, it’s always been a very big hope of mine personally that we will see the Jedi Master again in his glowing blue form, and it seems like Oz is certainly hinting at it.
Thanks to our friend Andy on Twitter for the heads up.
