Ahch-To Roundup: New behind the scenes on Skellig Michael video from The Force Awakens plus more Star Wars: Episode VIII set photos!
Discover Ireland, Ireland’s official tourism site, posted an amazing behind-the-scenes video of Skellig Michael from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The brief video features Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, and J.J. Abrams, and offers some breathtaking shots of Skellig Michael and that incredible final scene from The Force Awakens.
What’s great is we get a variety of shots of Hamill as Luke Skywalker in the final scene (spoilers I guess… but at this point… come on) and some amazing wide shots of the island itself.
No surprise, given that the video is from Discover Ireland, but the video really does have a “wow” factor for the scenery. Hamill describes Skellig as “indescribably beautiful” and Abrams simply says that the location is “a miracle.” Hard to argue from what we see. I know this sounds absurd, but the video absolutely gave me chills!
