Please do not share the details of this article openly on social media and spoil Star Wars: Episode VIII for those that want to remain spoiler free. These are very general spoilers but lets respect everyone’s wishes and not spoil those that do not appreciate spoilers like us.  Be cool! 

Today I have a tiny tidbit for you guys. I wish it was “meatier” but I know how excited many of you are for Captain Phasma’s return in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The tidbit pertains to a weapon Captain Phasma has. The question I have pertains to the weapon being ornamental versus something she actually fights with in the film.

Recently, I was talking to a source and at the last moment they dropped this on me:

You are going to love Captain Phasma’s spear in The Last Jedi. She looks killer.

I asked for elaboration as in was it a “spear” or a “sphere” and I was told it was “a weapon, a staff” and “talk soon!” so hopefully we get some elaboration sooner rather than later. Now, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens they gave Phasma an awesome gun which didn’t amount to much as far as action. It would be sort of strange to give her a spear and once again just let her stand around with it. But at the same time with the stuff I’ve heard about the new Royal Guards that stand beside Snoke, it isn’t entirely out of the question she has something ornamental like that for her First Order rituals and duties. That said, I hope she uses the weapon in combat. I want to see her fight with it, as it could be so cool.

This is a vague one that makes the imagination work overtime, at least it does for me. I hope you find it fun.
