Adam Driver praises Star Wars: Episode VIII script
EW has a new piece on Adam Driver in which Star Wars: Episode VIII comes up. The piece is a bit fluffy of no fault of its own. But since we’re all starving for anything Star Wars: Episode VIII-related, I’ll take it! Driver says:
“They’re still at war. It’s still Star Wars,” Driver joked of Episode VIII, which is filming now. “They’re not at peace.”
So clearly the movie won’t be called Star Peace. I did like this quote from Driver:
“I think it’s more of a testament to Rian coming into something very established and making it [his own]. I can’t wait to get on set, just because he’s so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they’ve come up with is really great.”
Driver seems to have a lot of integrity and I don’t think he would praise the script if it were bad; in fact he would just avoid or dodge the question out of respect for his co-workers. He doesn’t, which is a good sign. It also probably means what Rian Johnson is doing with Kylo is interesting as Driver, the actor in the piece, finds it interesting and great.
