BIG NEWS! Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character names, ships, descriptions & more!
If you’re worried about spoilers you may not like this story. So only read on if you are cool with some general stuff about the film being known. Don’t spoil anyone that doesn’t want to be spoiled, and think before you talk about this stuff.
Edelweiss has shared the motherlode of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story images and information. A full list of names was published, revealing all of the “highly skilled soldiers, fierce warriors, Rebel Alliance captains, enforcer droids, and freelance assassins” from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The information is from the Rogue One: The Official Visual Story Guide book listing on Edelweiss. Florian at Jedi Bibliothek found the information and tipped us off to the awesome release.
There is a new TIE Striker for the Empire and the U-wing for the Rebels. For the AT-AT it says “AT-ACT” on the bottom of the page. The AT-ACT could be an All-Terrain Armored Carrier Transport for all we know, but it could also be a placeholder piece of text. The U-wing doesn’t say U-wing anywhere on the page either, so there is a chance that’s the name. Both of the ships remind me of Star Wars: The Force Awakens concept art for Resistance ships. The book also appears to confirm Y-wings, AT-STs, and Darth Vader.
The Enforcer droid is revealed along with two other alien creatures we have never seen before that are part of the main cast. The appearance of Darth Vader in the images seems to confirm what we have been reporting on the Sith Lord. You can see our initial reporting on the Enforcer Droid here as well (we did our best with our sketches).
The cast:
Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones)
Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)
Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)
K-250 the Enforcer Droid (Alan Tudyk)
(see gallery for image)
Baze (Jiang Wen)
Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed)
Pao
(see gallery for image)
Chirrut (Donnie Yen)
Bistan (alien creature)
(see gallery for image)
Darth Vader (Spencer Wilding/James Earl Jones)
(see gallery for image)
Interestingly, when we heard about Cassian sometime ago, we heard his last name was “Willix.” The information here makes me think we only see Mads Mikkelsen (Jyn’s father) in flashbacks. We heard about him walking in a field in a sequence that sounds like a flashback of Jyn’s. Bodhi Rook was first heard back in November and listed on his agent’s website.
In Mandarin, “sheerut” (which sounds like Chirrut) means “involved in evil like a probe” for what it’s worth.

Thanks to Florian at Jedi Bibliothek for the heads-up!
