The Golden Globes were last night and Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow was in attendance. Our friend at Star Wars Post caught that he spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet about some of the process behind Episode IX:

A story must evolve or perish, and Rian and I are working closely together to make sure our stories build off of each other and continue to evolve and take us to new places, and I think that’s what the fans expect and what they want.

It’s really great to hear that the directors on this trilogy are working so close together. It was a little scary going in to this one with three different directors. Even though the original trilogy had three directors it’s well known that George Lucas worked very closely on all three films so without one guiding figure in this trilogy things could get messy. It sounds like the team behind this trilogy really care about keeping it tight!
