MTV interviewed Daisy Ridley at the Oscars last night where they discussed Star Wars: Episode VIII. We pretty much get confirmation that VIII starts right where The Force Awakens left off, even though that was pretty obvious by the Production Announcement from a few weeks ago. This is what Daisy had to say about Luke and Episode VIII:

“Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, it’s really amazing because when we went back to Skilleg to do the opening of VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people, but he’s (Mark) amazing to rehearse with and I’m very excited to do the rest of the stuff. It’s such a good story, seriously, Luke is so cool in this one, really!” 

Sounds to me like Luke is going to have a pretty decent sized role in Star Wars: Episode VIII. This is probably the most we have heard about Episode VIII in any interview thus far. Check out the full interview:
