J.J. Abrams was asked about the casting finalists we heard about this week and he had no comment. But he did offer a little bit of advice for the young actors trying for the role. He told Variety:

“Watch ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ Abrams said. “It’ll all be right there.”

That’s probably the most solid advice he could give. I agree–Indiana Jones and Han Solo are far from night and day and all of Ford’s charm, wit, sarcasm, and failing while still being a hero are rolled into a ball of perfection in one performance.
