Marvel Comics Announces New Star Wars: Han Solo Miniseries!
Today, Entertainment Weekly revealed an exclusive first look at Marvel Comics’ upcoming new Star Wars comic miniseries featuring our favorite scruffy-looking nerf herder himself, Han Solo.
The five-issue miniseries, which comes out in June, will be set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and is written by Marjorie Liu and illustrated by Mark Brooks.
According to Liu, we will also see Princess Leia and, of course Chewbacca in the series. No mention of Luke, however, which I found interesting.
It’s also worth noting that this is yet another comic that takes place between ANH and ESB, while we’ve had very little in terms of stories taking place post-ROTJ. The one that we did have, Shattered Empire, was loved by many. It’s an interesting decision and I really hope that Lucasfilm is saving the post-ROTJ era stories of Han, Luke, and Leia for something big like an animated series. (But this is all just wishful thinking on my part.)
Be sure to head over to Entertainment Weekly for a great interview with Liu, as well as some great interior art from the miniseries.
