Star Wars: The Force Awakens just hit Blu-Ray and DVD last week, which means we can hear Rey’s force vision a lot more clear than we could in the movie theaters. Upon surfing YouTube for some breakdowns of the scene I discovered a interesting video from a YouTube channel called “Mike Zeroh”. The video is a breakdown of Rey’s force vision. Basically you can hear things clearly this time, and because of this we can hear voices from familiar characters that we didn’t catch earlier. I made sure to double check with the actual digital copy and you can for sure hear everything that Mike was talking about. First up, more Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In this exact shot, where Kylo is stabbing only what is known as a “warrior”, we hear Obi-Wan say “You will be tempted, but you can not control it”. That line is from The Empire Strikes Back when Luke Skywalker is about to leave Dagobah to attempt to save Han and Leia on Bespin. We then proceed to hear Obi Wan say “The Force Will Be With You”. A line pulled from A New Hope.

This next line of dialogue is the most shocking to me. We hear none other than Emperor Palpatine.

Right at this shot we hear Palpatine say “Any Jedi”. If I remember correctly this is pulled from Revenge Of The Sith when Palpatine is talking with Anakin about saving Padme. Now this does not mean at all that these lines have any relevance other then to hear old friends and foes long gone. Though it does make you think why we hear Obi wan say “You will be tempted” right when Kylo stabs that warrior, followed by Palaptine’s words to Anakin.  Very interesting stuff indeed. Here is the full dialogue from the scene:

Darth Vader: “Breathing”

Yoda: “It’s energy, it’s energy”.

Luke Skywalker: “Nooooo, No”!

Yoda: “Surrounds us, and binds us.”

Obi-Wan: “You will be tempted, but you can not control it”.

Yoda: “Surrounds us”.

Obi-Wan: “The Force will be with you.”

Obi Wan says something else but I can’t make it out.

Little Rey screaming.

Unkar Plutt: “Quite girl.”

Obi-Wan: “Rey”

Obi-Wan: “These are your first steps”.

So take this as it is and enjoy this scene as its one of the most confusing and interesting scenes in all of Star Wars.
