Pulpit Rock scouted for future Star Wars film location
Per Henry Borch of the Icelandic production company True North, a company which has filmed content for the new Star Wars films like The Force Awakens, discussed the possibility of a location in Norway being used in an upcoming Star Wars film. Scouting of a location has happened already according to AftenPosten.
The location mentioned is called Pulpit Rock in Rogaland which was scouted in late July and/or August. You can see the location has a lot of special otherworldliness you would expect from a Star Wars location. With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode VIII having wrapped up principal photography, it would seem the Han Solo film which is about to being production in just a few months is the most likely candidate for the movie that could be set at Pulpit Rock. However, the location scouting could be for any of the current three Star Wars films currently in production right now.
Here is some of the hilariously translated text:
Among other things, the final scenes in a brand new Star Wars movie from Lucas Films to be taken up at Pulpit Rock in Rogaland, if the American producers get fulfilled their wettest dreams.
It would be strange for scouting on Episode VIII or Rogue One to be done at this point but it isn’t impossible either. It is hard to deny the “Ahch-To” like setting but with the composite of some architecture it could easily be transformed into something entirely different. Scouting on the Han Solo movie which starts shooting in January seems to be the best guess for somewhere like Pulpit Rock.
Thanks to @Rgangstad for the heads-up!
