Our friend at Daisy Ridley Fan gave us a cool heads up this morning. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is still a little under a year away. We still don’t know many character names at this point. Character names have been few and far between so any news is fun, and we’ll take it! I am dying for any solid information on Rogue One from official sources so I hope we hear something soon.

The named revealed via casting sites is:

Lyra Erso

The role is doubled by a white female actor, Gabriele Fritz. She is playing the photo double for a character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: 

Could the main character be named Lyra Erso? Could she be Felicity Jones’ double? She does look like she could be Jones’ double to an extent. However, there could be more than one white woman in this film with a big enough role to warrant a photo double. Felicity Jones is 5′ 3″ and she is 5′ 7″. That said, it looks possible and is worth considering. It could be a major character’s name or it could be a codename. Generally in the past we found the coded names did not have last names, but that might have been because of the nature of The Force Awakens’ character arcs. Time will tell how relevant this ends up being.

We know Riz Ahmed is playing Bodhi Rook. and Mads Mikkelsen appears to be playing Galen.  Tony Pankhurst is playing a “Marine Council Navy General.”
